I remember summer.

I remember the smell of rainbow-flavored ice cream and the chilled berry tea that Meg's mom made. We'd camp out on the river island for days at a time--every now and then, someone would take the little rowboat to the banks to pick up food and drinks. I rememer the radio we'd take out there, with a fresh supply of D batteries to keep the thing going. We'd each pick a time for music--Jono would take mid-afternoon and blast metal so loud I'm sure the people who lived down the bank could have heard it. Meg liked the girly stuff.
